Detail pictures in my gallery:

This is a bag made of 13 neck ties. All stitches were done on an embroidery machine. I'm super proud of this bag and the guy who commissioned me to make it for him is in love with it.

12 hours to make. He's using it as his carry on luggage for travel.

that's so cool!! Do you think you could send me the pattern you made for it? I have a bunch of old neckties that i need to do something with and this is pretty cool.

I actually didn't use or make a pattern. The guy who Commissioned me just asked that it be large enough to carry his art binder and scheduling supplies, which he gave me in order to work on the bag. But the gist is that it's three ties that make up the base and strap of the bag. You can use two or one, it's just your preference. You just have to make sure that the sizes line up correctly so that you don't have an uneven side. I then laid out what was to be my front and back and used quilters spray adhesive to adhere the ties to a backing, then you can zig zag stitch or embroider stitch the ties together. The lining I just made out of the scrap of the ties I didn't use, and made a pattern from the actual dimensions of the bag.

Here, however, is a tutorial for a similar bag that might help you out. [link]
